On a cool, October morning, long-buried human remains are unearthed at a construction site near the Siletz River. Logan McKenna, working with the Lincoln County Cold Case Unit, must help identify the woman and find her killer before he eliminates the only witness and gets away with murder . . . again.

While husband Ben is away in Southern California, Logan accepts an offer to work with the Lincoln County Cold Case Unit. When skeletal remains are discovered at a construction site, Logan and her boss identify three missing women who fit the profile.

The case becomes an active homicide investigation and Vern brings in the Major Crimes Team, but the budget for the team to chase this old ghost is limited. They have five days to identify the victim and find the killer or this one will fall back into the Cold Case files.

As Logan digs deeper into the three women’s lives, she becomes more and more invested in finding out what happened to them. Even if one is the long-buried murder victim, what about the other two women? Are they alive or dead?
